Can anyone please suggest a good restaurant in Cardiff city centre?

I am staying in the Kingsway Cardiff Hilton soon and want to take my partner out for a nice meal for his birthday. He loves steaks and I don't eat meat at all so need somewhere that would cater for us both and is walking distance or a short taxi journey from the hotel. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received. Thank you!

Gilby's might fit the bill. They do excellent steak and have plenty of vegetarian and fish choices:
